The passenger
side of this "Demonstrative" Dodge Dakota sports a demonic dragon
that runs the whole length of the Kopper portion of this paint scheme. Scroll
below to see the entire process. Still under construction, this image will
be filled out with Realistic Flames (Real Fire) so keep coming back for future
updates on the Real Fire portion of this mural.
After
masking the Shred portion of the paint scheme, the image to be airbrushed is
penciled in for proper proportion.
As was done
with the tailgate, the image is first airbrushed using Yellow
basecoat. Once the highlights
are applied, Light Brown
pearl is airbrushed into
the shadow areas. The foundation for the mural is now in place.
White basecoat
airbrushed heavily on the highlight areas, and Lemon
Yellow basecoat to soften it. Too pronounced highlighted areas will
cause the mural to lose it's monochromatic objective.
A translucent
Tangelo Orange pearl in airbrushed lightly around
the highlighted areas and over the shadows. The multiple layers of color add
to the realism of the mural. Red basecoat is
then applied for that "heated" effect.
Dark Brown
pearl pushes back the
dark areas and provides a real soft sheen. Kopper pearl,
the base for this mural, is airbrushed lightly over the dark and light areas
and heavily over the medum areas.
Black basecoat
ties it all in and a bit of White basecoat for
the teeth. Next step?...FLAMES!!! .. On the next page you'll see how
we envelope this demon in flames...
